Download Lava Iris X8 Official Lollipop Update [Test Package]

Download Iris X8 official Lollipop update from here in this post. This official android 5.1 update is however test package which is thankfully uploaded by Er. Kiranveer Singh you can follow the xda forum post to thank him personally.

This Update is deprecated, please download the latest update and follow its rooting tutorial. || Download our Wallpaper App for Android (Play Store Link)

Please note that this test update has some minor bugs too. The official and final lollipop update will be out soon. If you're too irresistible to check Android 5.1 on your Iris X8 than download it otherwise wait for the official release.

Do backup your data using titanium back pre-flashing.

Download this file and than rename it to update.zip
Than place it to root of sdcard means not in any folder
Than click on settings/about phone/software update
Click check for update. Phone will automatically detect that update.zip file
Hit thanks guys.
Its also flashable thro recovery.
And first unroot ur phone.

To install Lollipop Update follow the below steps - 

  1. Charger your phone battery to minimum 50%
  2. Create full Nandroid Backup from Recovery (CTR) [Recommended]
  3. Backup all your data using Titanium Backup 
  4. Put the downloaded ROM in SD card root
  5. Enter in Recovery Mode from Mobile Uncle Tool, If you have not installed recovery then follow the step 6. Otherwise skip.
  6. Rename the downloaded file to update.zip. Open Settings - About Phone - Software update - Check for updates - OK. Your phone will be rebooted and optimize apps after installing the update.
  7. To install package from recovery, follow step 5 and tap Install Zip, Install Zip from SD Card 1, Tap on update.zip file, in case you have forget to rename then it will be update.zipupdate.zip.
  8. Flash it and wait for it to complete, it might give some sort of error. Ignore them and reboot.

    Is anyone experienced issue like mine? In my case i found a bug on current official lollipop, when opening the default camera app then exit, the screen vivid color reduces, i do reboot and it will be vivid as normal again but opening the default camera again will result lower vivid color again and again :(

      Just checked now and yes it is so. There is also a bug with screen pinning too and with widgets on default launcher. Don;t forget it is just beta.

      If you're in boot loop then flash back to kitkat using SP flash tool, http://lavairisx8.blogspot.in/2015/10/how-to-get-back-to-kitkat-after-lollipop-update.html and follow our new tutorial to flash rooted lollipop update.

    Hi, today I have got 688.3MB update in my Iris X8, however I am not able to download the update package(getting stopped automatically).

    I need to confirm whether it is the same update/test update or it is an official update.

    If it is the same, I will download the above zip and follow the steps, or I will wait till it downloaded and update through air.

      download the latest updated version instead of this one. You must need to take the backup before installing it. although it does not deletr any data but be sure to backup.

    Plsss help can we install cwm /twrp/ctr recovery in lollipo .
    I install the cwm recovery using same way as i did before in my kit kat rom but this time when i reboot into recovery then first lava screen comes and then black screen flashes and nothing happens .
    then the phone reboots back to normal when i power it off by long pressing the power key



    Can you help me how to install recovery in lollipop updates iris x8
