How to Flash Rooted Lollipop Update in Iris X8

After you've downloaded Lava Iris X8 final update package don't just simply flash it. Follow these steps to get rooted Android Lollipop in your device.

  • Flash back to Android Kiktkat 4.4.2 (if you're on test package) using SP Flash Tool [TUTORIAL HERE].
  • Download the Lollipop Official Update from here.
  • Root and flash CTR recovery in your kitkat following these two tutorials, [ROOT & RECOVERY].
  • Now after successfully rooting your kitkat device boot into recovery mode. But first don't forget to place both update.zip and SuperSU.zip in sd card.  
  • From Recovery, first do preflash in ctr. 
  • Flash update.zip via ctr recovery.
  • The flash SuperSU.zip.
  • Reboot your Lava Iris X8.
  • Now you have successfully installed root lollipop update (final).
Though you have rooted device with latest firmware, you still need to flash recovery.img manually because the new update completely destroyed it. Follow these steps to install CTR recovery in Lollipop update.
  • First download Mobile Uncle Tool (MUT) from below link.
  • Download the recovery.img from below link, place it in your sdcard.
  • Open MUT and tap recovery update, choose recovery.img file and flash it.
  • It will ask to reboot, reboot it and try rebooting into recovery afterward using MUT or manually.

    I mean while booting to recovery screen blackouts and it sticks in boot animation.

    Successfully flashed rooted lollipop thanks for that, only and only thing is camera - color fade problem/bug ,please try to fix this bug too.
    All other bugs of official update is gone with a preflash, Thanks again

    in up comment someone said .All other bugs of official update is gone with a preflash. how I dnt understand whats preflash..

      Preflash means you're going to remove the current ROM to install new ROM.
      You can only preflash when you're using KK wit recovery installed and about to flash new rom or update.
      Their is an option in recovery to preflash

    helo I using kitkat that come with box. I downloaded all above file but I m confused how to update lollipop with root. can I update with go check update. maine update. zip card me dala hai. fir super user zip upate kryu lollipop update k bahd. je dono step k bahd baki step kase krna hai pls help

    I have completed the lollipop update and was working for a day. And when I reboot, it got stuck in booting. It stays still in Lava logo screen, neither booting not access recovery mode. What could be the issue?
