How to Install VCOM Driver MT6592 in Windows PC/Tablet

This post is helpful for those who are not able to install VCOM drivers or ADB driver or preloader in their windows PC/Tablet. I have read many of Iris X8 are not able to flash back to Android KitKat just because SP Flash tool doesn't recognize phone. The reason behind it MTK Preloader COM4 is not installed.

I assume that you have downloaded Kitkat Stock ROM for Iris X8.

Now I will show you how to successfully install VCOM drivers in just few easy steps. However if you're using windows tablet (must be 8.1 x32) then you need to disable bitlocker. The first step is to disable bitlocker.

The most easiest way, skip everything else.

• Uninstall any Phone related driver for device manager 
• Uninstall any MTK preloader from device manager
• Restart your PC
• Connect your phone with PC
• Install ADB drivers, to download ADB driver unzip the package and open Drivers/Setup.exe 
• After successful installation, disconnect your phone with PC
• Switch off your phone with cable and USB cable with PC
• Connect your phone with PC using genuine USB cable
• Hold both power button and volume down key for few seconds, don't let the device turn on
• If holding both does not works, try holding only volume up key
• Preloader will install automatically to your PC
• Flash the Kitkat 
• If the above method won't work, try installing VCOM drivers (mentioned below how to) then move back to these steps.

Install VCOM driver manually

• Open charm bar and click Settings > Change PC Settings >PC & Devices > PC Info > Device encryption > Turn Off. Wait for it to turn off successfully if it takes longer just restart your device 
• Now back to Change PC Settings > Update & Recovery > Recovery > Advance Startup > Restart now.
• Now after reboot click on Troubleshoot > Advance > Startup Setting > Restart > Select Disable driver signature enforcement by clicking F7 or 7 key. Restart.
• Now connect your phone with your PC/Tab and swipe down to status bar and choose USB setting > Connect as CD ROM check Built in CD ROM. Or if you have bricked your phone download VCOM drivers from below link. 
• Now open Device Manager > Action >  Add legacy hardware > Next > Install the hardware that I manually select from the list (Advance) > Next > Have Disk > (now extract the file you have downloaded) Win7 > usb2ser_Win7.inf > OK > MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port > Next > Next. It shows the device cannot start and ask for install, install and reboot. 

Your MTK preloader is now installed. Please note - You need to install usb2ser_Win764.inf in case of Windows 8, Windows 8.1 x64 bit. For Windows 8, 8.1, 7 x86 (32 bit) install usb2ser_Win764.inf.

Now open SP Flash tool and locate scatter file which is in your firmware folder. Let everything loaded and follow the steps.

• Shutdown your phone, let it vibrate.
• Connect your phone with your PC, in case of tablet use OTG cable and connect OTG end with your tablet.
• Your phone will be lighten up, let it and then show battery notification. After it done with those animations, click Download on SP Flash tool. 
• It will start downloading, or in case it not then long press Power button in your phone for few seconds. 
• It will start showing progress, and then a green tick appears just like in screenshot. It means everything is done and you can reboot your phone. It may take longer than usual to start phone so don't panic. 
• Remove USB cable from phone and switch ON, this will resolve unable to switch on/No Power/stuck at boot logo errors.
